Job Description:
I am seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional with deep knowledge in configuring and managing OWASP ZAP (Zed Attack Proxy). The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up OWASP ZAP on a virtual machine (VM) to allow it to receive API calls from public IP addresses and initiate penetration testing processes effectively.
Responsibilities:
-Configure OWASP ZAP to accept and respond to API calls from external sources over the internet.
-Ensure that ZAP is properly set up on the VM, including correct installation and network configuration.
-Adjust firewall settings to permit inbound and outbound traffic on necessary ports, especially for API interaction.
-Secure the setup to allow only authenticated and authorized access to the ZAP API.
-Troubleshoot and resolve any connectivity or functionality issues during setup, including addressing a specific issue where connections to the ZAP API fail with a "Connection refused"
