Expert Headend Engineer Needed
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I am seeking a highly skilled headend engineer with a broad range of expertise in system design, configuration, and training. My project entails three critical components, requiring a seasoned professional who can navigate the complex landscape of headend technology efficiently. It is a large network with over 100 Satellite TV channels, and about same number to be set up for OTT.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Consulting:** Provide expert advice on selecting the right headend equipment to match our system's needs. Your insights will be foundational in ensuring we choose the most appropriate and efficient tools for our setup. There is an existing setup. I need documentation of the process and training of my staff.
- **Training:** Conduct comprehensive training sessions for our team. These sessions should cover system design, configuration, and maintenance. Your training will empower our team with the knowledge and skills to handle our headend infrastructure effectively. Remote training would be for Not more than 7 overall. Only 2 key persons + myself.
- **System Design & Configuration:** Leveraging your expertise, you will help design our headend system configuration. This involves creating a streamlined setup that maximizes efficiency and performance.
- **Maintenance Techniques:** Share best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Your guidance will play a crucial role in helping us maintain our headend system's optimal performance.
**Essential Skills and Experience:**
- **Technical Proficiency in Equipment:** You must have hands-on experience with various headend components, including Modulators, CAS servers, SMS servers, Encoders, Transcoders, and Switches.
- **Familiarity with Specific Platforms:** While not mandatory, familiarity with Cisco, ARRIS headend equipment, and Telestream Vantage software will be considered a strong advantage.
- A robust understanding of headend system design principles, with a track record of configuring and maintaining these systems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to transfer knowledge effectively through training sessions.
