You have been contacted by a hacker from Belarus who has been charged with a violation of The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. You don't know specifically where they are located because you can't trace them. Your boss, who knows nothing about cyber intrusion crime, wants to know all of the legal issues that could arise from representation, what defenses he may have and what could be mitigated if he pleads guilty. He wants specific examples from past cases.
