Unlock Lenovo P16 BIOS Access

Job ID: 40478448

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

My Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 powers on but never gets past the “To interrupt normal setup, please press Enter” screen. The BIOS is still locked by my previous organisation, I no longer have any admin passwords or recovery keys, and Windows will not load.

I’m happy to open the laptop and work directly with the hardware, so what I need is clear, step-by-step guidance that will let me:

• reset or clear the supervisor password at the motherboard level (CMOS/RTC battery, service jumper, or other board-level method you know works on this model)
• restore default BIOS settings so the machine can continue the POST sequence
• boot all the way into Windows until the standard login screen appears

Everything must be achievable with basic tools (ESD strap, precision screwdrivers, alcohol wipes, etc.) and without specialist equipment unless you can suggest a readily obtainable alternative. Please include any Gotchas specific to the P16 Gen 1—soldered jumpers, shield locations, battery placement, or firmware quirks—so I can avoid bricking the board.

I’ll be available on live video if you’d like to guide me in real time, but a detailed written procedure with annotated photos or diagrams is fine as long as it is complete and tested.

Deliverable acceptance: once your instructions let me reach the Windows login screen without BIOS prompts, the job is done.
