The objective is to simulate the mixing of cementitious material and a liquid accelerator inside a rotating mixer using ANSYS Fluent and quantify the mixing performance.

Job ID: 40600215

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

The freelancer should:

Import or create the 3D geometry (I can provide the CAD model in STEP/IGES format).
Create a high-quality computational mesh.
Model the rotating impeller using either:
Multiple Reference Frame (MRF), or
Sliding Mesh (preferred if justified).
Define two inlets:
Main concrete stream
Accelerator injection stream
Use Species Transport (or an equivalent tracer approach) to evaluate mixing.
Simulate the flow until a stable solution is obtained.
Calculate the mixing performance at the outlet.
Provide contour plots, velocity vectors, pressure distribution, species concentration, streamlines, and residence time where appropriate.
Calculate and explain the Mixing Index (or Coefficient of Variation) using published methods.
Recommend improvements in the injection location or mixer design if identified.
Fluid Properties

The main fluid represents printable concrete and should be modeled as a non-Newtonian fluid (Bingham or Herschel–Bulkley model). Rheological parameters will be provided.

The accelerator can initially be treated as a passive scalar or second species.

Deliverables

The final deliverables should include:

Complete ANSYS Fluent project files (.cas and .dat).
Geometry and mesh files.
Fluent setup details.
All boundary conditions.
Post-processing files.
Mixing Index calculation procedure.
