ANSYS Wave Energy Simulation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a full computational model of a wave-to-electricity system built in ANSYS. The goal is to predict how much usable power a chosen device can extract from incoming swells and to capture every relevant output in a clear, export-ready datalog for later optimisation work.
Scope
• Model the hydrodynamic interaction between waves and the converter geometry, run time-domain and, if helpful, frequency-domain analyses.
• Focus on the energy conversion stage—wave generation mechanics and environmental effects can stay out of scope unless they materially improve the accuracy of the power-take-off results.
• Configure post-processing so that force, torque, velocity, damping, efficiency and any other key KPIs are automatically written to a structured file (CSV or similar).
• Provide guidance on mesh strategy, boundary conditions and solver settings so the study can be reproduced or extended in future.
Deliverables
• ANSYS project file(s) and all associated input decks
• Exportable datalog containing raw and processed results
• Short write-up explaining the modelling assumptions, equations used and a quick validation check against a published reference or hand-calculation
Acceptance criteria
The simulation must converge under the stated assumptions, show logical trends with wave height/period changes, and reproduce at least one reference value within ±10 %.
If you have direct experience modelling wave energy converters in ANSYS and can turn around a dependable dataset, I’m ready to get started.
