ANSYS Fluent Shock Tube Simulation
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
Project Title
Analysis of Shock Generation in a Shock Tube Using ANSYS Fluent
Project Description
I am looking for an experienced ANSYS Fluent / CFD expert to simulate shock wave generation and propagation in a shock tube. The objective is to numerically analyse the flow physics and extract meaningful pressure, temperature, and velocity trends during shock formation.
Geometry Details
Driver section length: 5000 mm
Driven section length: 2000 mm
Working gases:
Driver: Nitrogen (N₂)
Driven: Air
Objectives
To simulate shock wave generation in a shock tube using ANSYS Fluent
To analyse pressure, temperature, and velocity variations during shock formation and propagation
To generate pressure vs time plots at two probe locations:
800 mm from the end of the driven section
300 mm from the end of the driven section
Expected Deliverables
Proper ANSYS Fluent setup (geometry, mesh, species model, solver settings)
Contour plots of pressure, temperature, and velocity
Pressure–time plots at the specified locations
Brief explanation of results and shock behaviour
ANSYS case and data files (optional but preferred)
Skills Required
ANSYS Fluent
CFD
Compressible Flow
Shock Waves / Gas Dynamics
Notes
Simulation accuracy and correct physics modelling are critical
Academic-level clarity is expected (this is for a technical project)
