Startup TOS & SLA Compliance

Job ID: 40145584

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

My team is building a job-search tech platform and I need a lawyer who can shape the core legal documents that will carry us through development and launch. The work centers on three pillars: drafting a robust Terms of Service that spells out user rights and responsibilities, embeds a clear privacy policy, and sets firm limitations of liability; creating a Service Level Agreement that defines uptime, support windows, and remedies; and outlining a data-retention framework that aligns with labor-law requirements for employment-related information.

Because the product straddles technology, employment, and personal data, experience with startup contracts, technology law, and labor regulations is essential. You’ll be advising on risk allocation, IP ownership, and jurisdiction choices while making sure nothing in the documents conflicts with current labour-law standards for recruitment services.

Deliverables
• Editable, jurisdiction-specific Terms of Service (Word & PDF)
• Service Level Agreement ready for client signature
• Data-retention and deletion policy keyed to relevant statutes

Timeline
We need a preliminary review and consultation to identify relevant regulations that could impact a pre-launch information campaign. Contracts and policies regarding data privacy and retention and other related matters will be needed. As development continues through this calendar year, we expect to need two more rounds of legal document/contract drafting for increasing product and client scope.

Each document should be concise, written in plain English, and accompanied by a short explanatory memo so my non-legal co-founders understand the key clauses. I’m happy to iterate quickly over shared drafts and can provide our existing product workflows, user journeys, and any internal policies you might need.
