As regulations evolve, we are looking for an experienced professional to ensure our policies, systems, and processes remain up to date, accurate, and audit-ready.
Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled freelancer with proven experience in NDIS policy development, compliance, and systems management. You will be responsible for reviewing, updating, and editing our policies and procedures to align with the latest legislation, standards, and Commission requirements. You will also manage data entry, conduct compliance checks across all internal systems, maintain our risk management framework and continuous improvement register, and support the completion of internal audits.
Key Responsibilities

Policy Updates & Editing

• Review and revise existing policies and procedures to reflect new legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, and Commission guidelines

• Ensure all documents are clear, accessible, and meet regulatory expectations

• Draft new policies where required to fill compliance gaps

Legislation & Requirement Alignment

• Stay informed of changes to NDIS legislation, codes of conduct, and regulatory updates

• Implement changes systematically across all relevant company documents and processes

Data Entry & Systems Compliance

• Accurately update and maintain records in our internal management systems

• Conduct thorough compliance checks to verify data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards

• Identify and resolve any inconsistencies or non-compliance issues

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain and update the Risk Management Register, including risk assessments, control measures, and review schedules

• Manage the Continuous Improvement Register: log actions, track progress, and ensure outcomes are documented

• Recommend improvements to processes to strengthen compliance and service quality

Internal Audit Support

• Prepare and complete internal audit documentation and checklists

• Ensure all evidence is organised and available for internal and external audits

• Assist with addressing any findings or action items identified during audits
Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working with NDIS compliance, policy development, or quality assurance

• Strong knowledge of the NDIS Act, NDIS Practice Standards, and Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements

• Excellent written communication and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, compliant documentation

• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping

• Experience with risk management frameworks and continuous improvement processes

• Understanding of internal audit processes and requirements for registered providers

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and provide clear progress updates

• Familiarity with common business/NDIS management systems is advantageous
