Florida HHA DON Consultant Needed

Job ID: 40269129

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I am in the licensing-application phase for several new Home Health Agencies in Region 6 (Tampa) and need a Florida-licensed RN who can act as Director of Nursing on a consulting/retainer basis until AHCA grants approval. Your role is purely administrative for now—there is no active patient census—but AHCA requires a DON of record throughout the process.

Your primary focus will be to:

Serve as Director of Nursing for Florida HHA licensure
• Review and approve policy & procedure manuals (Florida 59A-8 compliant)
• Participate in AHCA application process
• Attend AHCA site survey (if required)
• Provide clinical oversight documentation
• Assist with Quality Assurance framework setup
• Ensure compliance readiness for inspection

Because Florida’s regulations differ from other states, I’m only considering candidates with proven Home Health Agency experience inside Florida. Familiarity with AHCA’s electronic submission portal, state-specific policy templates, and survey readiness expectations will allow us to move quickly and avoid revision cycles.

Timeline: initial filings are drafted and ready for your input immediately; I expect the engagement to run through the approval stage, with the option to extend into launch support if mutually desired.

If you hold an unrestricted Florida RN license, have previously served as DON (or in a compliance leadership role) for a Florida HHA, and are available for remote collaboration plus the occasional on-site signature or survey visit in Tampa, I’d love to discuss details and lock in our agreement.
