NZ Employment Compliance Strategy Audit
Budget: $30 – $250 NZD
I need a New Zealand–qualified (or highly NZ-familiar) employment lawyer to comb through every employment contract and our current employee handbook. There are already a few red-flag issues, so the review must go beyond a surface check; I want absolute certainty that we meet all statutory obligations, close any loopholes, and eliminate hidden liabilities.
Scope
• Line-by-line legal audit of every signed employment agreement now on file.
• Parallel review of the employee handbook, policies, and any referenced procedures.
• Highlight outdated or non-compliant clauses, ambiguous language, or risks specific to NZ legislation (Holidays Act, Fair Pay Agreements, 90-day trial rules, personal grievance exposure, etc.).
• Draft or suggest watertight replacement wording where needed.
• Map out a practical, phased compliance strategy I can follow immediately, including any quick wins and longer-term policy revisions.
• Identify flow-on areas—like termination agreements or disciplinary templates—that could undermine the main documents, with recommendations on whether they also need re-drafting.
Deliverables
1. Annotated copies of each contract and the handbook showing issues and recommended fixes.
2. A concise risk register summarising every loophole or liability.
3. A step-by-step action plan to reach full New Zealand compliance, prioritised by urgency and impact.
4. Optional: template language or clauses ready to plug in.
I’ll supply digital copies of the contracts, handbook, and any prior legal opinions the moment we start. Please confirm your NZ employment law experience and outline how quickly you can turn the first draft around.
