Project: AS/NZS 61439 Compliance Assistance for Commercial Swimming Pool Control Panel
Location: Australia (Remote acceptable)
Overview
I am seeking an experienced electrical engineer or switchboard compliance specialist to assist with the design verification, documentation, and compliance requirements for a commercial swimming pool control panel being manufactured in Australia.
The control panel includes:
* 3-phase 80A supply
* PLC-based control system
* Approximately 4 contactors
* Approximately 10 relays
* Approximately 10 circuit breakers
* Motor and process control functions for commercial pool equipment
* No VSDs currently included
The enclosure size is approximately 800mm (W) x 1000mm (H) x 300mm (D).
Scope of Assistance Required
The successful freelancer should have demonstrated experience with AS/NZS 61439 and be able to assist with:
Compliance & Design Verification
* AS/NZS 61439 compliance review
* Identification of applicable clauses and requirements
* Design verification requirements
* Temperature rise assessment
* Short-circuit withstand considerations
* Internal separation requirements (if applicable)
* Creepage and clearance verification
* Protection against electric shock verification
* Mechanical strength considerations
Documentation
* Verification checklist preparation
* Technical construction file guidance
* Risk assessment review
* Compliance documentation package
* Manufacturer’s declaration guidance
* Labelling requirements
* Routine verification requirements
Technical Review
* Review of electrical schematics
* Review of component selection
* Review of enclosure suitability
* Review of protection devices and coordination
* Review of busbar/cable sizing methodology
Deliverables
Ideally I am looking for assistance producing:
1. Compliance gap assessment.
2. List of required design verification evidence.
3. AS/NZS 61439 compliance document pack.
4. Guidance on routine verification testing.
5. Advice on certification and manufacturer obligations.

Applicants should have experience with:
* AS/NZS 61439
* LV switchboards and control panels
* Industrial control systems
* Electrical design verification
* Australian standards and compliance requirements
Previous experience with water treatment, pumping systems, or swimming pool control systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
