Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our Turnkey Laboratory Fit-Out Project by reviewing, polishing, and finalizing the electrical layout design for key technical areas. (Experience in laboratory, healthcare, or cleanroom projects is highly preferred).

The project involves a high-specification wet laboratory facility (2,010 m²), and we need expert support to ensure electrical system accuracy, safety, and compliance in the layout of:

Power distribution and panels
Lighting systems
Emergency and backup power systems
Service areas and shafting
AC/Mechanical equipment connections
Loading & unloading zones

Responsibilities:

Review existing electrical layout drawings for power, lighting, and service distribution.
Verify electrical load calculations for all equipment, including HVAC and laboratory devices.
Ensure proper coordination with mechanical, civil, and structural layouts.
Identify and resolve any design inconsistencies, conflicts, or constructability issues.
Finalize and deliver submission-ready CAD or Revit drawings for PMC/client approval.
Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements:

Strong background in Electrical Engineering (Building Services / Power Systems).
Proven experience in laboratory, healthcare, industrial, or cleanroom projects (Highly Preferred).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical design software.
Experience in load calculations, emergency power systems, and panel sizing.
Familiarity with Saudi/GCC electrical codes and IEC/NEC standards.
Ability to deliver high-quality work under urgent timelines.

Scope of Work:

1- Consolidated Electrical Drawings

Cover Page (with company logo + table of contents).

Indexed Electrical Drawings:

General Lab Electrical Layout Plan.
Power Distribution & Service Areas (Basement 1).
Lighting Plan (general, task, and emergency lighting).
Shafting Layout – Electrical Conduits & Cable Trays.
Equipment & Mechanical Area Electrical Coordination.

Standards: unified scale, standardized fonts, consistent symbols, and clear legend.

2- Electrical Load Calculations

Assess total load for all equipment, lighting, and HVAC systems.
Verify panel sizing and capacity for normal and emergency operations.
Identify potential overloads or under-sizing and recommend adjustments.

3- Equipment & Electrical Coordination (Later Milestone)

Align electrical distribution with equipment placement for balanced load.
Ensure proper clearances, accessibility, and maintenance provisions.
Provide recommendations for efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Deliverables:

Finalized and coordinated electrical layout drawings for power, lighting, service areas, and mechanical connections.
Verified load calculations and recommendations for safe and efficient operation.
Submission-ready package for PMC/client review.
