LOS ANGELES Certified Court Document Retrieval and International Shipping (USPS)
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
Mission Objective:
The freelancer MUST LIVE IN LOS ANGELES AND BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE COURT HOUSE IN PERSON. Then the freelancer will retrieve a certified copy of a court document from the Los Angeles Superior Court and send it by first class US postal service to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Detailed Instructions:
Courthouse Visit:
The freelancer must go to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Archive Department, located at 222 N. Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA.
The Archive Department's phone number is (213) 830-0198.
The freelancer should plan to arrive at the courthouse between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM (to allow time before the 4:00 PM closing time).
The freelancer should inform the Archive Department staff that they are there to retrieve a certified copy of a court record.
The freelancer will need the following information:
Case Number: BS078590
Hearing Date: November 7, 2002
Courtroom: 1A
The freelancer should pay the $41.00 fee for the certified copy. The court accepts credit cards.
The freelancer should obtain the certified copy of the document and a receipt for the $41.00 payment.
The freelancer will then need to arrange for the certified copy to be sent to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, via first class USPS.
The freelancer should obtain a USPS receipt showing that the document is being sent first class mail to the specified address. (Freelance can add $25 to more than cover this)
The freelancer will confirm the shipping address with the client before sending.
Proof of Completion:
The freelancer must provide the client with the following as proof of completion:
A copy of the receipt from the Los Angeles Superior Court for the $41.00 payment.
A copy of the USPS receipt showing the document is on route to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Payment Details:
The client will pay the $41.00 court fee (add this to you fee)
The client will pay the freelancer for their time and effort in completing this errand. (This is the portion the freelancer will bid on).
Important Notes:
The client states that anyone can retrieve the document as it is a matter of public record.
The Archive Department offers appointments, but walk-in service is also available.
The client is located remotely and cannot handle this in person.
