Modern Maria Clara Comedy Script

I’m staging a short stage piece for our high-school performers and I need an original script that blends the classic Maria Clara setting with unmistakably modern twists. The story should run roughly 10–12 minutes, feature five to six clearly defined characters, and lean on witty, slightly sarcastic dialogue rather than slapstick. Think clever banter, playful jabs at today’s trends, and the occasional knowing wink to the traditional source material.
The goal is to keep the period look and feel—baro’t saya, fan, the polite gestures—while sneaking in smartphones, memes, or any other contemporary touch that will make the students (and the audience) laugh at the collision of eras. Nothing too risqué: just smart, school-appropriate humor that teenagers will enjoy delivering.
