Cinematic Aerial Footage Enhancement (colour grading, stabilization)
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
Goal: Transform the raw drone footage into a smooth, dramatic, and luxurious cinematic clip for use in a high-end brand campaign.
Creative Direction:
The narrative rests on sweeping landscape shots—think gentle horizon reveals and fluid motion that pulls viewers into the scene. I’m not looking to emphasise architecture or people this time; the landscapes themselves need to carry the story. The story is about the potential of reforestation
The final video must evoke a feeling of luxury, timelessness, and expansive grandeur. The look should be reminiscent of a beautiful, warm "Golden Hour" on an estate.
Specific Technical & Edit Instructions:
1. Movement & Smoothness (Crucial for Drama)
The editor must prioritize extreme smoothness and stabilization throughout the entire clip, with specific attention to the speed ramps:
Global Stabilization: Apply professional-grade video stabilization (e.g., DaVinci Resolve’s Stabilizer, Adobe’s Warp Stabilizer) to eliminate all micro-jitters, ensuring the clip feels like it was shot on a high-end cinema rig.
Slow, Gliding Reveal: The current panning/zoom-out motion (especially in the second half, approx. 0:13 onward) must be slowed down further using a slow-motion effect/speed ramp. The final reveal of the cultivated rows and woodland must be a slow, majestic glide that emphasizes the scale of the property. The movement should be near-imperceptible in its rate of change, making it feel deliberate and expansive.
No Motion Blur Artifacts: Ensure the slow-motion process does not introduce ghosting or choppy frames. Use Optical Flow or similar interpolation techniques for the highest quality.
2. Color Grading (Crucial for Luxury Tone)
The color grade must be applied across the entire clip to establish the warm, luxury aesthetic:
Warmth/Golden Hour: Shift the Color Temperature significantly warmer. The goal is to make the lighting appear as if it is set during the golden hour, even if the original footage was not.
Rich Earth Tones: Saturate the yellow, orange, and brown channels. The dry grass and tilled earth should have a rich, glowing amber/gold color.
Greens: Shift the green hues of the distant trees towards a deeper, desaturated olive/forest green to complement the warm earth tones. Avoid bright, vibrant greens.
Contrast & Depth: Use the color wheels/curves (Lift, Gamma, Gain) to introduce a deep, chocolate-brown warmth into the shadows (Lift/Shadows) to increase depth and make the texture of the cultivated rows more dramatic. The highlights should hold a soft, golden glow.
