automate saving filing in a folder

I am trying to timestamp a process for automatically backing up files in my folder on MC 2010 and A server named Xerox/Solimar. I want to cop and paste a file that already exists in the folder (XFORM) with the exact name convention. But I need the existing file to add a date stamp to the existing file in the folder (XFORM). The new name with the date stamp file will remained in the XFORM folder. The date stamp process must be automated can you help?????
