Show a car traveling along a path on Desmos Activity Builder
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project Description:
- I am looking for a Desmos expert to create a visually engaging activity on Desmos Activity Builder.
- The project requires showing a car traveling along a straight line path at a moderate speed.
- The car should be the png used
First slide:
● There should be a graph on the left with an integer grid in the background.
● There should be a draggable point on the grid that students can use to set the starting
location of the car.
● There should be a table on the right where students can enter points that have positive
integer coordinates that will define a path for the car to travel.
● The car should begin by traveling to the first point the student entered, then the second,
etc. and then return to the starting point.
● There should be click targets on the graph that students can press to make the car start
moving, stop moving, and reset to the start.
● The car should move at a constant speed.
(Note: do not create the cars in the calculator, use a clip art png)
Second slide:
● There should be a sketch on the right side with axes in the background showing distance
(total length traveled) on the y-axis and time on the x-axis.
● There should be a graph showing the distance/time relationship of the car from slide 1.
● Students should be able to sketch their own distance versus time graph on these axes.
● On the left there should be a graph showing the car from slide one traveling along the
path, as well as another car traveling the path according to the sketch that the student
drew.
● There should be a button on the graph for students to start the animation.
- Ideal skills and experience for this project include:
- Proficiency in using Desmos Activity Builder.
- Knowledge of creating animations and visual effects in Desmos.
- Experience in designing interactive activities.
- Understanding of mathematical concepts related to motion and graphing.
