Logographic language translator

I am a writer who has created a language for a story I'm working on. This language has a logographic/hieroglyphic script with about 3000 symbols. I want to create a program that will allow me to type a word in English into a word document and have the symbol appear in the document. How could this be accomplished, and what would be the estimated cost?
