Project Overview:
We are building a professional, branded workflow using LibreCAD for measuring residential and commercial roofs and generating reports for insurance and contractor use. You will help us customize LibreCAD and build a roof measurement + reporting pipeline that fits our exact needs.
What You'll Do:
Customize LibreCAD Environment
Set up predefined layers for roof components (e.g., ridge, eave, hip, valley, etc.)
Create line types, colors, and blocks specific to roofing drawings
Set up a branded title block/template with Roofro logo, client info fields, and scaling
Automate Basic Measurements
Help script or configure shortcuts/macros to measure:
Roof area
Perimeter
Line segments (e.g., ridges, hips)
(Optional) Script auto-labeling of areas or slopes
Set Up Report Generation Workflow
Define a process to export data (DXF, PNG, or CSV) from LibreCAD
Design or connect to a basic PowerPoint/Word/Canva template for branded roof reports
Integrate a workflow to create client-ready PDFs from roof drawings
(Optional) Create Custom Lua or C++ Scripts
Add advanced automation if possible (e.g., auto-summarize quantities)
Deliverables:
A customized LibreCAD setup (.dxf template, color settings, etc.)
Short how-to guide on using the drawing environment
1–2 branded sample roof report templates
Optional: Lua or C++ scripts for measurements
Skills Needed:
Strong knowledge of LibreCAD or CAD scripting
Experience with CAD for construction or roofing is a big plus
Familiarity with PDF, DXF, and CAD-to-document workflows
Bonus: Scripting in Lua, C++, or Python
