Automated Test Equipment for Structural Analysis of Shafts
Budget: $5,000 – $25,000 USD
I'm seeking a freelancer to help design and build a piece of automated test equipment. This system should be able to use electric actuators and various sensors to load parts, perform structural analysis, and visualize the results.
Key Requirements:
- Integration of multiple sensors: The equipment needs to incorporate force sensors, displacement sensors, torque sensors, and a laser counter. The current system that needs replacing employs an overhead camera to capture curvature data, so there may be a need for a similar visual component unless a better system can be created.
- Use of electric actuators: The system should utilize electric actuators for loading the part in multiple orientations (deflection and twisting). Pneumatic is also an option but would prefer all electric for maximum mobility.
- Data storage: The equipment should be able to store test results in a library for future reference and comparison.
- Detailed documentation to hand off to internal engineers for future upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Ability to fabricate/assemble parts to create equipment. Can work with internal engineers on building custom parts as needed.
Ideal Skills:
- Expertise in designing automated test equipment
- Proficiency in working with electric actuators
- Experience with structural analysis
- Skills in integrating various sensors into a system
- Knowledge in creating data storage systems within test equipment.
This project would be perfect for someone with a background in mechanical engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of both hardware and software integration.
