CNC Small-Batch Quote Estimator
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Each week I receive drawings for small-batch CNC jobs and must return customer-ready quotes that break every cost down to the cent. Most parts are machined from metals, plastics, or composites, and my customers insist on a fully itemized estimate—material, setup, cycle time, tooling, secondary ops, and any finishing or inspection requirements.
Your task is to study the print or 3-D model I send, apply realistic shop rates, and email back a PDF/Excel quote that I can forward directly to the customer. Consistency and accuracy are more important than speed, but a 24- to 48-hour turnaround keeps me competitive, so we will be working on a continuing, job-by-job basis.
Deliverables for every RFQ
• Detailed, line-item quotation sheet (material, labor, overhead, profit)
• Stated lead time and assumptions (machine type, number of set-ups, fixtures, etc.)
• Optional notes on cost drivers or alternative manufacturing approaches that could save the customer money
