CNC River Chart Design

I have a collection of old river charts in printed-paper form that I want turned into a single, carve-ready artwork I can reuse across several CNC projects—starting with a pair of internal sliding doors in hardwood ply. I will scan or photograph each chart at high resolution and supply the images to you.

The end result I’m after is an abstract, artistic interpretation rather than a strict replica. I’m open to your ideas on how much of each chart to emphasise; if you feel certain bends, depths or landmarks would make the composition stronger, go for it.

Deliverables
• Clean vector artwork (SVG, DXF or similar) scaled for a door panel 2100 mm × 900 mm yet easy to resize for future pieces.
• CAM/toolpath file compatible with a mainstream package such as VCarve, Fusion 360 or similar, including bit selection, feeds and speeds for 18 mm hardwood ply.
• Preview renders so I can visual-check the flow of the design before cutting.
• A brief note on any design choices—e.g., which features you highlighted and why.

I’ll handle the machining once I receive your files; I just need confidently prepared vectors and toolpaths that will carve cleanly straight out of the box.
