CNC Plasma Isolation Circuit
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m upgrading the plasma source on my CNC plasma cutter and need an experienced power-electronics professional to create a compact voltage-isolation module for the interface with my torch height controller.
Key electrical targets
• Isolated input: variable DC arc voltage from 0 V up to 200 V.
• Isolated output: proportional, clean 50 – 200 V range (maintaining accuracy across the full span).
• Isolation style: true galvanic isolation—no shared ground paths.
• 1:1 Isolation ratio
What I expect
1. A complete schematic with safety-rated components.
2. Bill of materials specifying parts that are readily available.
3. PCB layout recommendations (Gerber or native CAD files are fine).
4. Simulation or basic calculations that verify thermal limits, creepage/clearance, and response time suitable for real-time torch height feedback.
5. Brief build / test notes so I can prototype the board confidently on my end.
I’m happy to iterate once or twice to fine-tune component values, but please keep the design practical, compact, and ready for DIY assembly. If you have prior experience with plasma cutters, high-voltage sensing, or similar galvanically isolated interfaces, mention it—I value proven know-how.
Looking forward to working together.
