CNC Vector Design – Slot-Fit Display Stand for CNC Cutting
We are looking for a CAD / CNC designer to create vector cut files for a slot-fit display stand that will be cut on a CNC router.

The stand will be cut from sheet material and assembled using interlocking tabs and slots (no glue required).
The vector files will later be imported into Vectric VCarve where we will generate toolpaths for CNC cutting. Because of this, we only need clean vector geometry — not toolpaths.
Reference photos of the structure we want to replicate will be provided.
Scope of Work
Design a flat-pack slot-fit display structure that assembles into a stable stand similar to the reference images.
The design should include:
Base panel
Vertical display panel
Internal structural supports
Interlocking tabs and slots
Stable geometry so the display stands upright
The design should be optimized for easy assembly and structural stability.
Stand Sizes Required
We need three versions of the stand design:
• 12 inch stand
• 14 inch stand
• 36 inch stand
These should either be:
Separate designs scaled appropriately, or
A parametric design where slot sizes adjust with the overall dimensions
The larger stand should include appropriate structural reinforcement so it remains stable when assembled.
Materials
The stands will likely be cut from materials such as:
Corrugated cardboard
Foam board
Possibly plastic or ACM sheet
Typical material thickness:
3mm – 6mm
Slots should be designed with proper tolerance for material thickness.
Deliverables
Provide clean vector files suitable for CNC cutting.
Preferred formats:
DXF (preferred)
SVG
Optional formats:
AI
EPS
PDF reference drawing
Requirements:
Files must be 1:1 scale
Clean closed vectors
Organized layers
Separate cut paths if possible
Ready for import into Vectric VCarve
CNC Design Requirements
The design must include the following best practices:
Slot Fit Design
Slots must match material thickness with proper tolerance.
Example:
Material thickness: 5mm
Slot width: approx 5.1–5.3mm
CNC Router Relief (Dogbone Corners)
Internal corners must include dogbone reliefs so interlocking tabs will fit when cut with a round CNC router bit.
Flat Pattern Layout
All components must be delivered as flat parts ready for CNC cutting.
Sheet Nesting (Preferred)
If possible, include an optimized nesting layout for 4ft × 8ft sheets to minimize material waste.
Ideal Candidate
Looking for someone with experience in:
CNC cut file preparation
Packaging dieline design
POP display design
CAD / Illustrator / Fusion 360
Slot-fit structures
Important
We only need clean vector cut geometry that we will later import into Vectric VCarve to generate CNC toolpaths.
