Next.js Developer for Brisbane Discovery Platform

Brisbane Unlocked — Starter Website Build (Next.js)

Brisbane Unlocked is a local discovery platform for Brisbane — events, experiences, bars, restaurants, markets, and community activities. The platform is built on real scraped data (52 active sources, 20,000+ rows in Supabase) and a working approved prototype.

We are looking for a Next.js developer to build the starter website from the approved prototype. This is a fixed-price project at $4,000 AUD, structured across 7 milestones with fortnightly payments.

MILESTONE STRUCTURE

Milestone 1 — $1,000
Kickoff, scope lock, and design system
- MVP scope approved in writing
- Next.js project baseline, repo and environments set up
- Typography, colour, spacing, button and card components built from approved brand direction
- Responsive layout confirmed on desktop, tablet and mobile

Milestone 2 — $500
Homepage core build
- Hero section, key messaging and CTA
- Core homepage content sections
- Section anchors and navigation flow
- Confirmed rendering on desktop and mobile

Milestone 3 — $500
Listings and discovery MVP
- Listing cards rendering from starter content
- Search and filter controls (keyword, category, suburb, date)
- Category pill interactions

Milestone 4 — $500
Data wiring and content admin
- CMS content model wired up
- Supabase connected to starter listing content
- Content updates possible without touching code

Milestone 5 — $500
Mailchimp and submit-a-listing
- Newsletter form integrated to existing Mailchimp account
- Submit-a-listing form with validation and success state
- Basic moderation queue (pending/approved)

Milestone 6 — $500
SEO, analytics and performance
- GA4 installed and events firing for key user actions
- Technical SEO baseline (metadata, sitemap, robots.txt)
- Performance and image optimisation pass

Milestone 7 — $500
QA, UAT, launch and handover
- Cross-browser and responsive QA complete
- Production deployment live and stable
- Handover guide for daily operations delivered

PAYMENT TERMS
Fixed price $4,000 AUD. Milestone payments released fortnightly upon confirmation of deliverables. Please note funds take approximately 2 days to clear from my account.
