AWS Server Monitoring Specialist

I run several production workloads on AWS and want to hand off day-to-day monitoring and ongoing maintenance. The focus is exclusively on keeping the environment healthy and secure rather than initial setup or large-scale reconfiguration.

Your work will revolve around AWS CloudWatch. I need unified dashboards for CPU, memory, disk I/O, network traffic and application-level custom metrics; finely tuned alarms that trigger before user-visible issues arise; and tight integration with SNS so alerts reach my e-mail and Slack channels immediately. In parallel, CloudWatch Logs, GuardDuty findings and VPC Flow Logs should feed into a security view that highlights suspicious traffic patterns or privilege-escalation attempts. When errors occur, I expect actionable information, not just raw log lines.

Deliverables I will use to sign off on the engagement:
• CloudWatch dashboards covering performance, security and error trends for each instance and micro-service
• Alarm policies with documented thresholds and tested alert routes
• A short runbook describing weekly maintenance tasks (patch windows, log rotation, backup verifications)
• Monthly health report summarising uptime, incidents and remediation steps

AWS CLI, CloudFormation or Terraform may be used—whatever speeds up repeatability as long as all artefacts remain in my repository. Please outline your proposed schedule for the first review of metrics and the cadence you recommend for ongoing fine-tuning.
