Trying to share MacBook Pro calendar with Samsung Calendar on Galaxy S21+ (via Google)

It worked on my Samsung Note 9 (enter an event on the laptop and it appeared on the phone; enter or edit an event on the phone and it appeared on the laptop). Just purchased the Galaxy S21+. Calendars no longer sync either way. I've tried all the advice found online.
