SolarWinds Multi-Cloud Network Monitoring Setup
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Multi-Cloud Monitoring System POC (SolarWinds & Multi-Cloud)
Project Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network & Systems Architect to build a Proof of Concept (POC) environment for a Cloud-Based NOC monitoring system. The goal is to simulate a "Manager of Managers" (MoM) architecture where a central NOC hub monitors and manages a distributed enterprise network across different cloud environments.
Technical Scope & Architecture
The freelancer will be responsible for deploying and integrating three distinct environments across three different cloud providers (to simulate real-world vendor diversity):
1- NOC Hub (monitoring tool - SolarWinds) : (Cloud A - e.g., Azure): Install and configure SolarWinds Observability/NPM (Trial/Eval).
Set up the Master Dashboard and Alerting engine.
2- Client Environment (Cloud B - e.g., AWS):
Deploy a Network Simulation engine (GNS3 or EVE-NG).
Simulate a network of ~10 nodes (Cisco Routers, SD-WAN, Switches, and Microwave links).
3- Client-Side Monitoring (Cloud C - e.g., Google Cloud or Oracle):
Deploy a lightweight monitoring tool for the Nodes on point 2.
Integrate this tool in Client-Side to forward alerts/traps to the NOC Hub (Cloud A) via API or SNMP.
Key Tasks
Multi-Cloud Connectivity: Establish secure IPsec VPN tunnels or any standard secure paths between all three cloud providers.
Device Discovery: Configure SolarWinds to discover and monitor the virtual network in Cloud B.
Integration (MoM): Successfully demonstrate an alert firing in Cloud C and appearing as an "Actionable Incident" in the NOC Hub (Cloud A).
Troubleshooting Gateway: Configure a "Jump Host" with MFA for secure remote configuration of the simulated devices. And verifying the control over Devices on cloud B by the SolarWinds in Cloud A.
