## Background
I have a grand vision of being able to stand up a spot instance and run a number of services on it using ECS. For instance, when it comes up I'd like to have photoprism.mydomain.com ([ref](https://photoprism.app/)) or ipfs.mydomain.com ([ref](http://ipfs.io/)) or bitcoin.mydomain.com all spun up automagically. I'm also very keen to keep the cost as small as possible, and will be prepared to pay a cost in terms of time when I start in order to bring up more resources. This is a project I'm doing for myself to be test out how 'self-hosted-within-reason' I can be; I have a vague plan of open sourcing it all at some point.
Partially because I'm a minimalist and partially because I'm trying to keep the AWS cost low, I **do <u>not</u>** want to use the AWS load balancer. Instead, I'm planning on using [traefik](https://traefik.io/), which will also run as a docker container (managed as an ecs service) on my ec2.
I have a lot of this project working so far, and as part of your engagement would be happy to demonstrate how its working for me as well as get it working in *your* AWS account for future development.
## Major Pieces that are working
- - A new instance starts up, installs the ecs agent daemon and begins running a bunch of containers set up through ECS.
- Those ECS services are independent stacks, that I'll share with you.
- - Right now my traefik service starts, and identifies other services available on the cluster.
- - Lambda is triggered when service starts to point to update dns records.
- - volumes are being created & mounted.
## Initial Enhancement / Fix
So this is the part where I describe what I would actually like for you to _do_. :)
- - First step is to resolve traefik routing issue. The service runs, but is not configured correctly.
## Project Requirements
- You will need to work in your own AWS environment.
- The code I have written is in python. You will need to know how to set up a python virtual environment, so we can build and install the project.
- Use cloudformation rather than terraform.
