Droplet Downgrade & Website Redirect
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’m running a custom web application on a DigitalOcean droplet that currently uses CentOS. The server is over-provisioned for my actual traffic, so the goal is to move everything to a smaller Basic droplet and point the domain to the new instance without noticeable downtime.
Here’s what needs to happen: create a clean snapshot, spin up the Basic droplet, replicate the existing CentOS environment, migrate the application files and database, test the site, then switch the DNS so users land on the new IP. I also want a quick walk-through (recorded notes or a short call) covering the commands and config changes so I can handle future tweaks myself.
Deliverables
• New Basic droplet on CentOS with the full application and data intact
• Domain and any SSL certificates correctly redirected to the new server
• Downtime kept under five minutes, with confirmation that all app functions work as before
• A brief hand-off document summarising steps, key paths, and rollback instructions
Let me know your timeline and what access you’ll need (SSH key, API token, etc.). Looking forward to getting this streamlined and saving on monthly costs.
