Configure OVH IP on Proxmox

Job ID: 39771089

Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR

I have a single-node Proxmox host running several Linux guests, and I’ve just ordered an additional public IP from OVH. All I need now is a clean, reliable bridge configuration so one specific VM can start using that new address immediately.

Here’s the current picture:
• Proxmox 7.x on dedicated hardware (stand-alone, no cluster)
• The target VM is Linux-based and already up and running on vmbr0 with its private address.
• OVH has delivered the extra IP in the same MAC-attached way they usually do. I want to assign it through a bridged setup so the guest picks it up directly without any NAT tricks.

Your scope is to:
1. Create or adjust the necessary bridge(s) on the host.
2. Attach the fail-over MAC to the VM and configure the guest network interface so the IP routes correctly.
3. Verify inbound and outbound connectivity (SSH in, ping out, reverse lookup, etc.).
4. Give me a brief note of the changes so I can repeat the process for future addresses.

SSH or Proxmox web-console access can be arranged right away, and I’m happy to hop on a quick call if something in OVH’s manager looks odd. Once the VM is reachable externally on the new IP and survives a reboot, we’ll call it done.
