CloudFlare DNS and Email Setup
Budget: $30 ā $250 USD
I need a DNS expert to configure settings and email forwarding in CloudFlare.
Key requirements:
- Configure A, CNAME, and MX records.
- Resolve email delivery problems.
- Set up 301 permanent redirects.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Extensive knowledge of CloudFlare.
- Proficient in DNS management.
- Experience with email routing and delivery.
- Familiar with setting up redirects.
First some history of the original problem. I've been using GoDaddy to register my domain and to forward email to Comcast. They use Outlook to store incoming email and to do the actual forwarding to Comcast. About 5 weeks ago Comcast started rejecting the forwarded email due to a DKIM issue and Comcast said that I needed ask GoDaddy to update their DNS settings. They did this but the issue still wasn't resolved. GoDaddy claimed that Comcast needed to update their settings. After about two weeks of bouncing back and forth between GoDaddy and Comcast support, each blaming the other for the rejections, I decided to transfer my domain registration and email forwarding to CloudFlare.
After completing the domain transfer I attempted to create two new email addresses in CloudFlare
I believe that CloudFlare generates a test message to the destination addresses after they are entered but these seem to fail so the creation of the new email addresses fails. Looks like we still have a settings conflict with Comcast.
When I logged back into the GoDaddy account I noticed that incoming email was still being delivered to the GoDaddy/Outlook inbox so I suspect that some of the transferred DNS settings are causing this.
In the CloudFlare DNS settings there are two addresses which point to Amazon Servers (I believe CloudFlare uses its own servers), a couple reference godaddy, a couple more reference outlook. I suspect we will have to delete some of some of these and regenerate some of the others so Iām looking for and DNS expert familiar with CloudFlare settings and email forwarding.
