Clojure GUI Data Visualizer
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m putting together a desktop-style GUI application in Clojure whose sole purpose is to turn raw datasets into clear, interactive visual stories. The core of the job is to design and build the full tool—from setting up the event-driven interface to drawing charts and graphs—so that I can hand it a data file and immediately explore trends, correlations, and outliers.
The stack is flexible as long as it remains idiomatic Clojure; Seesaw, cljfx, or any Java-interop library that gets us a smooth experience are all fine by me. I already have sample data ready, a sketch of the screens, and a few preferred chart types. What I need now is the engineering horsepower to wire everything together, keep the code REPL-friendly, and document the public API so future extensions stay painless.
Deliverables
• A clean Leiningen or deps-edn project with runnable JAR
• Functional GUI that loads a CSV/JSON file and renders at least three interactive visualizations (e.g., line, bar, scatter)
• Brief README explaining setup, build, and extension points
Ship the first working screen early so we can iterate quickly on look and feel, then round out the remaining visuals and polish. If you enjoy crafting responsive UIs in pure Clojure and have an eye for clear, insightful graphics, this project should be a pleasant sprint.
