I need a structural or civil engineer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am attempting to get a permit to dormer a 10 foot section of the second floor of a cape code style house, to add a bathroom I drew up floor plans and framing diagrams, and requested a permit. Norfolk is requiring structural calculations . See comment below:
'When adding additional living space on the 2nd floor, we ask for an engineered letter that addresses the existing construction (wall, footing, foundation, ceiling joist/new floor joist) can support the proposed loads'.
So I need a civil engineer to examine existing structure and provide letter.
This spring I would like to have plans drawn up for an addition as well.
I can send drawings i submitted later.
