I need a Structural Engineer

Hi,
We have an old shed that we would like to convert into a habitable building. The shed was formerly a mechanics workshop and features beautiful hard wood roof trusses. We would like to restore as much of this heritage as possible (whilst making it structural sound).
The posts are built straight into the soil outside the concrete slab and therefore have mostly rotted. The slab itself is built in joining square sections.
We are hoping to obtain plans that allow us to restore the building and have it classified as a habitable dwelling.
Is this a possibility? or does the fact that it isn’t on a house slab to start off with disqualify it from being fixed up.
What would be the process in this rebuild and the costs involved with your services.
