Weatherproof Camera Pole Blueprint
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m commissioning a complete engineering blueprint for a tall, free-standing camera pole—think the sturdiness of an electric utility pole—with a protective dome that keeps the camera perfectly dry in rain, dew, or coastal spray. The pole’s core job is wildlife monitoring, so it has to perform flawlessly in forests, wetlands, deserts and anywhere in between.
The design must show me exactly how to bring reliable power up the mast and how to keep a continuous data link through Wi-Fi or cellular equipment. Please specify components, mounting methods, conduit routing, grounding, lightning protection, and any weather-hardening treatments so the whole assembly remains stable through wind, temperature swings and high humidity.
Deliverables I expect:
• Scaled CAD drawings (plan, elevation, and sectional views).
• Bill of materials with suggested part numbers and weather-rated finishes.
• Electrical and low-voltage schematics covering AC feed, PoE (if used), and surge suppression.
• Connectivity layout that accommodates dual radios (Wi-Fi + LTE/5G), antenna placement and enclosure ventilation.
• Assembly and installation guidelines, including footing/foundation specs, torque values for hardware, and maintenance intervals.
• Brief testing checklist verifying power continuity, data throughput and environmental seal integrity.
I’ll review the package against those points; once each is met, I can sign off immediately. I look forward to seeing a design that’s practical to fabricate, easy to service, and rugged enough to watch wildlife for years without a hitch.
