Structural Engineer for Home Inspection
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Two months ago, I purchased a 1,013 square foot, concrete block, new construction home in Dunnellon, Florida. After moving in, I noticed the floors were uneven and sloping so very strange plus uncomfortable. I just had a Home Inspection completed and he confirmed the sloping floors and recommended I have this problem checked out. A family friend with construction experience, diagnosed this floor issue as a "poor concrete finishing job" but he also questioned what affect these uneven concrete floors will do to the structural integrity of my house. I have reached out to the County Inspection Manager and they don't inspect post pour-foundations and have no minimum variance requirements for floor flatness. They said it's the Builder's responsibility. I have been reaching out to the Builder and his Construction Manager to assess my floor problem but no response to date and it's been about a month.
PROJECT:
I want to have a licensed Structural Engineer inspect my home and provide an Inspection Report that states their professional observations plus any recommendations for repairs / improvements that I can take back to the Builder as a negotiating tool to initiate constructive conversations. Thank you.
