Structural Design of a 12m x 24m Steel Portal Frame Building

Job ID: 38448524

Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP

Hi,

I have a preliminary design for a 12m x 24m steel portal frame building, with an overall height of 3.9m to the apex, a 6° roof slope and externally clad in a restraining-type metal profiled sheet (I have attached the first page of the design, the complete file is too large for upload here) This design gives an overview of what I’d like to achieve, including the use of inset purlins to comply with planning conditions on overall building height. Extra to the standard design, I would also be interested in your opinion on the best method for including roof overhangs, the last page of the preliminary design details a brief overview of what I’d like to achieve. I have had a ground report completed on the site where the building will be located.

Structural analysis and structural design calculations for the primary steelwork of the 12m x 24m steel portal frame building, ensuring the design complies with the relevant British Standards and Eurocodes for structural design. This includes
* Design of portal frames and gable frames providing sizes and specification of members with all the necessary details for manufacture.
* Design of stability bracing
* Connections design and detailing, including at the haunch, at the apex and at the base considering fire boundary conditions.
* Design of suitable strip and pad footings
* Design of ground bearing slab capable of carrying a forklift and other small plant.
* Opinions on best method for including roof overhangs in the design and including the relevant design details and specifications for manufacture if required.
* Advice on fire boundary conditions

I’m proficient with Autodesk products and am happy to create the design file using details from your calculations.
