Residential Structural Engineer for Deck Design
Budget: $10 – $2,000 USD
I require a capable and experienced structural engineer who specializes in residential projects. My focus is on the design of a free-standing deck that meets all the regulatory requirements for a permit.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Design a safe and secure deck structure fulfilling all building codes and regulations.
- Prepare necessary drawings and documents that are needed for obtaining permits.
- Deck will built to be used off the back of the house but is unable to be tied into the house due to size of the sill and the rubble foundation.
- Decking must meet code in Massachusetts and must be able to have permitting approved.
- Not being able to obtain the permit to build will be considered incomplete and refund will be due.
Ideal Candidate:
- You should have a strong background in residential structural designs, especially outdoor structures such as decks.
- Proven experience in taking a project from the design phase through to permit approval is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of residential building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills will be preferred.
