Residential Structural Engineer Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I previously submitted this to storm and water approval and need some updates.
In general I am hoping to get an updated efficient and effective BMP system and grading plan. The county rep advised that if I get a new engineer to do it they are welcome to contact him
Design Discrepancies
1. The proposed dry swale crosses the other swale and crosses the driveway.
2. Not sure why the entire left side has a dry swale.
3. The proposed Bioretention system is located on a slope.
4. The impervious area may be inaccurate and need to be recalculated. E.g. main floor is 2563 sf and patio is (13x13) 169 Sift
BMP
1. The Bio retention system being proposed for the BMP will not work.
a. This is because it is on a slope and a bioretention system works best on flat surfaces.
i. Suggested the use of a dry well with 24–36-inch perforated pipes.
ii. Well will need to be deep enough to accommodate Pipes from basement area.
2. All downspouts need to be piped all around do the BMP
a. Add note that the downspout collection system shall be smooth bore.
b. Cannot connect directly to the catch basin
i. No POP Ups
c. Pipe should end at the slope before the catch basin and then flow over grass before it goes into the catch basin.
i. Possibly have some stone at the end of the pipe.
3. To avoid the basement flooding or any water settling may need a dimple catch basin by the driveway close to the basement with pipe to the BMP
a. or sides graded below finished grade to allow run off water.
b. Or put in-let.
Grading
1. Grading at the side of the house needs to be approximately 2% below grade to allow surface flow
