Residential Garage Ridge Beam Specification -- 2
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I need a professional to help me specify a ridge beam for my garage. The primary focus of this project is ensuring the structural integrity of the beam.
Key Tasks:
- Design a ridge beam suitable for a residential garage.
- Use either wood or engineered wood (like LVL or Glulam) as the primary materials.
- Ensure the design meets all necessary structural requirements.
Ideal Skills:
- Extensive knowledge in structural engineering.
- Experience in designing for residential buildings.
- Proficiency in using wood and engineered wood in construction.
Please note that while aesthetics and regulatory compliance are important, the main focus of this project is the structural integrity of the ridge beam.
I am looking for help with figuring out a ridge beam/rafter size for my garage.
The building will be 16’ W x 32’L with the ridge beam spanning the 32’ section.
Roof pitch will be 4:12 can install the rafter either 16” or 24” o.c.
The garage will be located in Fort mcmurray, AB Canada (25lb/sqft snow load) and I will be using 1/2” pine plywood and ashphalt shingles.
Each gable end will have a 9’W garage door under the ridge beam support.
Don’t know what something like this would typically cost if my price is too low just let me know
