Residential Beam Replacement Structural Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm seeking a structural engineer to design a 34-foot beam replacement for my 200-year-old colonial brick home. The current beam is wooden and I want to replace it with a steel one. We hope to keep the current granite footings and encase them in concrete to support new steel columns.
Key requirements:
- Conduct necessary structural assessments and calculations.
- Design a suitable steel beam or beams. 2 t 3 separate beam sections joined to create the 34-foot span would be the least intrusive to the structure.
