We are seeking a Transportation Engineering expert to carry out a junction capacity analysis and prepare a professional report in line with client requirements.
Project Overview:
Our team has been appointed as the Transportation Engineering consultants for a planning application. The main task involves assessing the capacity of the Weeping Willow Tree cross junction and preparing a report to support the planning proposal.
Scope of Work:
1. Crash Data Analysis
Use www.crashmap.co.uk to record the number of fatal, serious, and slight accidents (including casualties) that occurred within a 150m radius of the junction (David Lane & Vernon Road).
Focus on data from 2019 to 2023.
Provide a brief commentary on findings.
2. Traffic Data Extraction
Extract necessary traffic flow data from provided figures (Figure 1 & Figure 2) for the junction capacity analysis.
3. Capacity Analysis (Main Task)
Perform a capacity analysis of the Weeping Willow Tree cross junction using PICADY software (Priority Intersection Capacity and Delay).
Use the provided drawing: Weeping Willow_WITHOUT stop lines.dwg.
Conduct the modelling in Advanced Mode within PICADY.
Follow the Manual for Streets 2 guidelines for interpretation and recommendations.
Assumptions:
Assume A to D traffic blocks A to C traffic by 2 PCUs.
Deliverables:
PICADY model files.
Detailed capacity analysis report (including methodology, results, and interpretation).
Commentary on crash data findings.

Proven experience with PICADY software (Priority Intersection Capacity and Delay analysis).
Background in Transportation Engineering / Civil Engineering.
Ability to interpret and present traffic data clearly.
Familiarity with UK traffic standards and Manual for Streets 2.
