MATLAB to Fortran Code Conversion for PEST

As a developer, I am aiming to transform an annotated MATLAB code to FORTRAN to create an executable file that communicates efficiently with the parameter estimation program PEST.

The MATLAB code to be converted is below 200 lines and heavily uses a custom symbolic function. It also requires laplace inversion which is included in the code. Both factors limit the capability of automatic conversion tools such as codeconvert.ai.

This project will need your expertise to carefully handle the application of Inverse Laplace transform and translate custom operations centered around it into FORTRAN.

Candidates with background in the following skills and experiences will be a good fit:

- Proficient in MATLAB and FORTRAN
- Extensive knowledge in symbolic operations, particularly in inverse Laplace transform
- Experience in writing and optimizing executable files
- Familiarity in using parameter estimation program, preferably PEST.

Custom function for Laplace inversion, included in the code, should be properly utilized. This assignment requires an experienced programmer who can manually convert the code while maintaining its functionality and efficiency.
