Hydrology & Road Design Review
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 AUD
The detailed design package for a new roadway and its accompanying drainage network is ready, and I need a fresh, expert set of eyes to interrogate every assumption behind it. Your chartered-level insight into both hydrology (water management, culverts, detention sizing, flood immunity) and road engineering (horizontal and vertical alignment, pavement composition, safety, earthworks) will ensure the design is fully compliant, buildable, and optimised before we move to construction tender.
Scope
• Work directly on the detailed design phase documents: drawings (DWG/PDF), calculations, modelling files, and relevant standards.
• Verify hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, catchment delineation, climate allowances, and drainage structure sizing.
• Check roadway geometry, pavement layer thicknesses, sight-distance, crossfalls, and tie-ins against current design codes.
• Highlight clashes between drainage and road elements and flag maintenance or constructability concerns.
• Compile a concise review report with annotated mark-ups and clear, actionable recommendations.
Acceptance criteria
1. Written report covering all findings, referencing drawing numbers and clause numbers from governing standards.
2. Annotated PDF set returned with comments pinned at the exact locations in the drawings.
3. A brief follow-up call (up to 1 hour) to walk through any high-priority items.
All files will be supplied via a secure cloud link; please be comfortable working with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, or equivalent industry tools as needed. I’m keen to engage promptly so we can finalise the package on schedule.
