Engineering Letter for Floor Joist Repair
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I require a Colorado licensed structural engineer to assess the damage to my floor joists and provide a professional letter detailing the necessary repairs.
- **Primary Concern**: The 2x10 dimensional lumber floor joists have some 3/4" holes drilled in them 1-2" from the bottom of the joists and code requires any holes to be more than 2" from the top or bottom.
- **Cause of Damage**: The damage was caused by a previous home owner who did the work without a permit.
- **Repair Documentation**: The local building department is requiring the joists be repaired as per a letter from a licensed Colorado engineer.
The ideal freelancer for this project would be a Colorado licensed structural engineering, experienced with residential properties, and a thorough understanding of floor joist repair. Excellent written communication skills are also essential, as the letter needs to be clear, professional, and suitable for submission to my building department.
