Construction of a Retaining Wall

My yard has a drastic slope on one side of the house. It continues around the backyard but not as steep. However, the slope in the back yard at the bottom is a short level space. On level area I have a garage. There is a problem with the drainage between the bottom of the slope. I would like to construct a retaining wall then fill with soil to level it out and fix the drainage problem.
