MANAGE CIVIL WORKS DESIGN PROCESSES

The following task is to be demonstrated and assessed in the context of this sector’s work environment, in compliance with relevant legislation/regulation and using policies, procedures, processes and operational manuals directly related to the industry sector for which it is being assessed.
For this task you are to complete the following activity to demonstrate your ability to, working effectively with others and providing team leadership and coordination to manage the civil works construction process on more than one (1) occasion.
Taking into consideration the concrete beam design: (You can also choose steel beam design/Urban Road design)
Occasion 1:
On this occasion you are required to interpret and scope design requirements for your civil works beam design project, as well as identify project design options and a preferred design. Please include the following:
• Assumptions and constraints of the project.
• Functional specifications of the provided/chosen project.
• Innovative procedures your group used to develop the design concept.
Occasion 2:
Here, you need to prepare a report that outlines the legislation, documentation, policies and procedures required for the same design project including:
• risk assessments and management
• statutory compliance
• work health and safety
• environmental management
• cultural and heritage management
• quality management
