I am preparing a new network design and need solid, citation-backed research I can rely on when presenting my decisions to stakeholders. Your brief is to investigate three specific areas—network architectures, communication protocols, and the key hardware/software components that tie everything together—and translate that knowledge into clear guidance I can act on.
Scope
• Network Architectures: analyse the dominant models in use today and explain where each one excels or falls short for different business scenarios.
• Communication Protocols: document how core protocol suites operate, outline their strengths, and flag any implementation caveats that could affect performance or security.
• Key Components: break down the routers, switches, servers, media, and software services that are critical to a resilient, scalable network.
Deliverables
1. A well-structured report (Word or PDF) that synthesises the findings, including concise explanations, best-practice recommendations, and properly formatted citations.
2. A comparative matrix that maps requirements to the most suitable architectures, protocols, and components.
3. One or two simple topology diagrams (Visio, draw.io, or similar) that illustrate recommended design patterns.
Acceptance criteria
• Content directly addresses all three focus areas above.
• Claims are backed by reputable sources (e.g., IETF RFCs, IEEE papers, vendor whitepapers).
• Language is clear, professional, and free of vendor bias.
• Final files open without issue and are ready for immediate inclusion in my proposal deck.
If you have a knack for turning complex network concepts into actionable insight, I look forward to reading your bid.
